  Standard analysis

OD determination

In the final step, the OD value (i.e. the “optical density” of your oligonucleotide in 1 ml, measured at 260 nm) is determined and the corresponding analysis is conducted. The OD and analysis is relevant information for getting your oligonucleotide quantified and approved. If the OD value is too low, or the degree of purity is below the critical limit, it will be necessary to repeat the synthesis of your oligonucleotide. Please understand the necessity of this step. It is the only way for us to ensure the high quality of our products which our customers appreciate. As a rule of thumb you can calculate: 10 OD ≈ 33 µg.

Method of ordering and extent of analysis

The extent of analysis depends on the type of oligonucleotide and the wishes of the customer. The following table gives an overview of the standard analyses we conduct. Nevertheless, the analysis of your oligonucleotide can be changed at any point if you so desire.
